You know, Court Dresses of the 1790s will never cease to make me laugh. They are just so hilarious and crazy

Hi there, beautiful!  I would push you off that horse if it meant I could get your riding habit!

Gallery of Fashion, October 1797.

I love the pairing of the yellow gown and the blue gloves, and that brown bonnet is adorable!

What a lovely color!

I love the bright green!

Crappy scan, which is such a shame because it looks like these have some great detailing on them.  I love the sleeves of the girl on the left!

Two lovely bonnets, and look at her shoes

Look at those trousers!  Nice and tight!  Pointy shoes and green gloves are a nice addition!

Gallery of Fashion, Figures 124 and 125, January 1797.

I have the description of the outfit on the left, which I am heartily in love with:

"The hair in light ringlets; plain chignon; white satin riband [sic] tied under the chin; Cabriolet bonnet, covered with white, black, and blue striped velvet; blue and white striped satin riband scalloped, placed in the front, with a large bow of the same behind.  Round gown of chintz; long sleeves.  White satin cloak, trimmed with swan-down.  Party-coloured bear muff.  Blue and white striped shoes.” (emphasis mine)

A velvet bonnet, swan-down trimmed cloak and a freaking BEAR FUR muff?  Holy crap!

It’s so incredibe that I can’t even spare a thought for the magnificent blue gown!

In honor of my 500th post (!!!), I present you with one of my all time favorite fashion plates.  For goodness sake, they are ballooning!

Oooh!  So many cute things!  An adorable bonnet with leaves on it, a gorgeous shawl and short cape/jacket, and an embroidered reticule!

Another green and pink!  How great is the star?

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS AWESOME.

Alright, I LOVE that little gauzy shawl!  I would wear that today!  Contrast piping on the seam lines is really nice, too.
