What a magnificent cloak!  Yellow on yellow is a great combination and such a striking color!  (Also:  He’s hot)

Oooh!  What a lovely parasol!

I almost didn’t post this one because the quality is so low, but a few elements were irresistable:  the bright colors, “the coat trimmed all round with a border of small brown roses,” and the spats on his shoes- SWOON!

What a truly stunning gown!

This issue also held a fascinating announcement in the “births” section- typically reserved for the peerage and famous people- that I couldn’t resist throwing in:

"Lately a poor woman, aged 22 years, residing in Lahinch, near Ennistimon, Ireland, was safely delivered of five children, three sons and two daughters, who, with the mother, are all in a most thriving way."

Imagine QUINTUPLETS in 1807!  I’m sure she and everyone else involved was quite surprised and it seems like a miracle that they all survived given the risks associated with multiple births.

Oh, how I wish this was a higher quality scan!  That said, you can still see the excellent Greek Key-like trim on the gown, and it is yellow and grey- my current color obsession!

That’s a lovely pelisse she has!  The asymmetry of the skirts, the fur banding around the sleeve caps, and the high collar are all very interesting features!

I love the fur trim on this walking dress, and of course a well-dressed gentleman is the best accessory of all!
